Teaching Philosophy

>> Friday, February 27

This is my sixth year in educational. I’m teach in SBP Integrasi Jempol, Batu Kikir, N. Sembilan, one of boarding school in Malaysia. I’m teach Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. Teaching my students about new knowledge require patience and enthusiasm.
Students are learning machines. From the day they are born and even before, their brains are ready to capture their experiences and encode the new knowledge into a web of nerve connections. Brains are the engines driving the human learning machines. Recent brain research suggests that actively engaging our brains in learning throughout life significantly affects how well we age. Helping my student to learn, organize, shape and strength their brains are sweet memories.
The students should be motivated to learn by the teacher and parents to achieve successful learning. The students also learning by doing because they practicing, trial and error and learning from mistakes. Feedback from teacher is really important in learning because 'other people's reactions' is the most frequent reply about how people account for having developed positive feelings.
As a teacher, it is my responsibility to circulate, redirect, discipline, question, assess, guide, direct, fascinate, validate, facilitate, move, monitor, challenge, motivate, watch, moderate, diagnose, trouble-shooting, observe, encourage, suggest, watch and clarify the ‘learning machines’. In my opinion, this responsibility are the definition of teaching.
My goals for my students are hoping they could apply the new knowledge in their future life with their skills such as critical thinking, writing, calculating or problem solving and etc. My approach in my class are sensitive and concern with class level and progress, be a helpful teacher, impartiality of the my evaluations of students and always do knowledge preparation and organisation of my subjects.
In my class, contextual learning is the most effective way to teach the students because they could do minds-on and hands-on activities such as solar cooker and rocket projects. They can apply the contents in their daily life, community and occupations. In the same time, they are happy thinking and learning during my class.
In the future, I will continue my study in the same field and find the easier way to teach physics with ICT tools. The challenge that I have to face in the future is to play my role as a teacher in connection with use of new technology. I hope to share my own passion for learning with my students and be the best educator that I can be.

A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge, and wisdom in the pupils~ Ever Garrison
